Let the Leafs Fall!

Well we are in Leaf hell! No! I don't mean the Toronto Maple Leafs those "dummies" just beat Montreal and are slowly losing there shot at a good draft pick next year... Sigh...

I mean the things in the picture! Here is Wiki describing leafs "In botany, a leaf is an above-ground plant organ specialized for photosynthesis." Yeah yeah very pretty very colourful and very much a pain in the ass.

I mean we don't have a tree on our property yet neighbours all around us do and there is the problem. After a windy day and night this morning our yard and front of our house is covered in the orange and brown things. I mean covered! I took the dog for a walk I lost her and her poop when I stooped!



And I haven't even begun to complain about the bags I'm gonna fill on Tuesday (my day off) so I can make garbage removal on Wednesday...



Yes I would rather see the Toronto Maple Leafs "fall" and the other leaves stay on the trees!

Orange, Red and Brown

The leaves are falling all around,
My body cringes at the sight and sound
Of my feet that crush the Orange, Red and Brown

You say how pretty they all are, I say
Sure when they are viewed from afar
Or behind the glass of a travelling car

Dropping on the grass in my yard

Before I point our leaf blower at my neighbours stoop...

Halloween Has Come and Gone

Halloween has come and gone.

And not one kid has crossed our lawn.

Not one finger has touched our bell,
knocked on our door,

oh what the hell!?!

We won't get to see the ghouls the ghosts,
and be the extra scary hosts.

That wait for the sound of Trick or Treat!
Any other sound would be less sweet.
We won't get to see the Spidey's or Bats or the Ballerinas or the tilted witch hats.

No moms and dads grasping babes hands tight.

Who are there to avoid some parentel type fright.
So we eat the candy left untouched,

and munch and munch till it hurts too much.

Yes no kids at our house this year.

Honey turn out the light, please grab me a beer!

BRAINZZZZZzzzz!

Hehe! I love Zombies. I don't know why! I just do. Since I got the crap scared outta me back in high school when I went with my buddy Doctor Dave to see the 1979 Romero Classic "Dawn of the Dead" I have a had a thing for the "brain eating", life taking, rotten flesh shamblers. Maybe it is the absurdity that the dead will walk again (sorry Christians) and the only way they can be stopped is if you destroy their brain...

Hehe seems pretty crazy but I dig em (excuse the pun).

Which leads me to the Toronto Zombie Walk. People dress up (or down) and put make up on and shamble around the city... Pretty f-in weird huh?

Is it just me or is it funny that the Zombie walk is on the same day as the Toronto Marathon???

Wouldn't it be cool to see the zombies chasing down those marathoners? Maybe even catch a few :D

This leads me to the Toronto After Dark movie festival. Me and "My Goddess" missed the Toronto Film Festival this year so we decided to attend this horror-fest! The festival has Sci Fi, Vampires, Goth Future Rock Opera and Chilean Super Heroes to name a few genres...

It has been great fun except for getting our passes (that's another story) and today is Zombie day at the festival. We have two screenings tonight and you can still get passes at the door. So if you have a hankering for human flesh or brainnzzz, why not drag that back foot down!?!

Now where did I put that brain shaped candy ;)
