I've been HURT and Joining the Club!


Bah being called "Rehab man part deux" is hurtful!

When you are in training mode and injuries come up what can you do? You don't plan for them especially when they occur in your hockey game "Darren"!

But to be called "Rehab Man!!!"

Argh the agony!

No offence to Rehab man err Ian but I do start things off slowly when training. I do warm up and cool down and stretch etc. I increase my runs only by 10 percent weekly and that is only if I hit my minimum goal of 3 runs a week. My routine is 6 days on and one day off. So I think I train "right"!

But sometime "sh*t happens" You know?

Take this week. Good runs. Tallied roughly 18 to 19 k in my three runs. I am more about time than distance at this point. (Especially coming off of last weeks knee sprain.) I spun inside due to said injury. Spinning to Coach troy and Spinervals (off day/recovery level) DVD. I still did my core stuff including many sets of crunches and push ups... even through the nagging knee pain. But I did cut out stairs for a few days and anything that was too much for the knee! And the knee has been improving too...

Bad news was I came down with some stomach flew virus food poisoning thing Thursday before hockey but I did core and spun and then went to hockey. Hydrated but didn't eat much as I was afraid I'd "toss my cookies" on the ice! But I didn't. Fast forward to yesterday. I thought I'd try some solid food at lunch, nap and go for a run. Well lets say I "lost my lunch somewhere around minute 20" on my run. I've never done that before. Am I a member of the club now? After that I looked around to see if anybody noticed (I did it on someones shrubs) and walk a bit then light jogged the rest of the way home...

I feel a bit off today and I'm still gonna core and spin! RAAAaaaRRRR!

"Sniff, sniff" just don't call me "Rehab Man"!

You know the irony is that Mikeeee rescued me on a run once when I barfed and I called his phone number instead of my own, so maybe he has passed the Rehab_man entrance exam with flying chunks!!!
