So Friday I went out for "boy's night" hockey had finished a couple weeks ago as the usual weekly get together so some of the guys were getting antsy. So it was decided that we would go out to a bar/club...
Well if I had a say (and I didn't really) it would have been to go to a pool hall/sports bar, or go see a band or anything but was what was decided (and the funny thing was I was the driver yet I was being told where to go)!
We ended up in the "burbs" in a throw back dance club bar where the music was loud and dance (way too much dance) the cover and beer was way too expensive! TEN BUX to get in!! 6.75 a beer!!! What were we at, a Leaf game!?!
We ended up meeting up with a few friends (a couple single guys) so I got to watch the whole bar scene thing "sober" I was the "DD" (designated driver). Oh and kudos to the bar for charging 3.50 for a bottle of water! Way to back the DD...sigh.
So I drank 1 beer wait 30 to 40 minutes and repeated a couple of times. This routine this led me to soberly "digest" the whole thing and remind me that the only reason you could get me to go these places 20 years ago was if I was drunk!
The music sucked, the atmosphere crap and having to outside to the smoking area was great fun for a non smoker since everyone else smoked. Top it with the expensive prices and well you can imagine my rating for this club...
Would I go there again? Nope not unless you paid for my cover, my drinks and insured they played better music and the odds of this all happening are NIL!
But it was good to see the other guys having fun and if 4 outta 5 had fun, I guess that ain't so bad...
