If Motivation is the Key, then what is the Lock?

I was asked by "my goddess' if the blog motivated me to train? I had to think about it for a bit... After realizing that I'm not read by too many people (I figure 2 or 3 including her Triguy and rehab man) I decided it didn't motivate me. Look how many times I've published since I started the journey.

So what motivates me? Well the feeling I get when I'm working out aka endorphins helps. Reading Triguy's blog helps. My goddess working out helps. But in the end it is me. Me is the "key and the lock"...

I've been pretty much "a loaf" the past 3 or 4 weeks. I play summer hockey once a week and that is fine but with my nephew here (he's gone now) I played too many video games and ate too much junk food and felt pretty crappy.

Playing 2 hockey games in 4 days last weekend helped me see how much I missed the "work out feeling" I missed the endorphin "buzz" and yesterday decided to do somtheing about it. Since it is usually a hockey night but was an off day I decided to "brick it"! I was able to spin for 40 min to coach Troy's recovery workout and still feeling pretty good added an easy 6k run.

I feel good today so I plan to do some core stuff and haven't yet decided on a run or bike (it is literally pissing am outside so a spin may be the answer)...

This weekend will be hot and I plan to run early tomorrow and maybe swim if I can find a pool...

A half marathon on my schedule might be the additional motivation I need if I can get back to 10k fairly soon. I'd like to be running 16k by the end of august... We'll see if I can get to 10k in the next week!?!

A half marry by October is defineately do-able. Stay healthy (cough, rehab man), be consistent and you are there.
If I can get my butt recovered in time, maybe I'll see you there!
